Five Marine guards walked out of the bushes, "You wouldn't dare kill us in front of the Majors son now would you?" he said gesturing at Alex.
Jackie's eyes flared with anger, "You ain't worth killing ya scurvy dog! I knew Alex here was a liar from the beginning. Plus, I saw him in yesterdays paper along with Miss Josephine. I am in a hurry to find myself a navigator if it kills me, which is something you dogs can't do!" she snarled. She couldn't believe that they were going to execute her because of her father. "My father is a worthy and respected pirate, you ain't even close to killin' me or him, you scumbags." snapped Jackie, "If this Major is so great, why is he not here yet? Is he a coward like you?"

Charlotte blinked. They were in the papers? Uh-oh. Now, they had to get out of town, before Alex's dad came...

Charlotte looked over his shoulder again, then leaned into Alex's shoulder. "Are you really going to shoot him?" She whispered oh-so-softly into his ear, her voice cracking since she hadn't spoken in months...
"Maybe..." He answered, both to his dad and to Charlotte.

Jackie's mouth was wide open, "Shut your mouth you numskull!!! If he forgot let me be!!!" she said taking out her katana's again.

Out of no where, something popped into Alex's mind. Without moving his pistol, he looked over to Jackie. "Wait-a-sec, you said you needed a navigator, savvy?"
