Charlotte had finished dancing, and was now twitching ever so slightly. She scanned the crowd, and after not seeing Alex or Jackie, she sighed loudly. But she had found the other crew members that just came aboard. She walked over to them, pushing through people. She hadn't really caught their names, so she just nodded at the two in a semi-polite manner.
Alex sucked in a breath. His nerves were going haywire at the moment, and adrenaline was pumping through his veins at the speed of flipping light. He took in another breath, then patted the inside of his jacket, feeling the gun that was still there. Good. He would probably need that later. He heard what Jackie said and his thoughts were gone. With one glance at Ray, and one last glance at her, he was swiftly on his knee in a millisecond. His eyes were focused on her feet, or... the hem of her dress. "J-Jackie L. Huff," He started, taking in another breath, calming himself. Yes, he was calm, cool, collected, pirate boy. "I have taken a thought to this moment-" more like you know, a hour. "-and I would like you to be my..." He hesitated. Why is this so hard?! It's a word Alexander! A WORD! His dad would not be pleased.. "...my..."
Come on boy! Spit it out!
Why was his dad's head in his mind? "...my wife?" He removed his mask and finally looked up at her. "Jackie L. Huff, will you please marry me?"

Jackie blushed, she didn't intend to do that, she had never felt so.........happy. She smiled, a rare smile that no one had seen, "Yes." she said. That was all it took for Jackie to, almost, scream like a little girl that had gotten a toy long waited for. She saw Ray and nearly pointed at his face saying, "What now sucker?!" But, Ray always looked funny when his face was all scrunched up with anger.

Ray heard Alex's question and Jackie's answer. He was not angry, but furious. Plus, on top of Alex and Jackie's engagment, Jackie had smiled. She never ever smiled in front of him. "Preposterous!!! This is an outrage! I proposed to Jackie first and she said yes!!!!" he yelled. Little did he know that Miki, Jackie's sick cousin, was there.

"She didn't say yes. You forced her to marry you." she said.

Jackie flinched when Miki had spoken up, "How did she get here? When did she get here?" she thought.

Ray was even more furious, Jackie had told her sick cousin Miki about that day, "So what?" he said.

"According to world law, if the lady, Jackie, is forced to marry to someone she hates, Ray. But if someone else proposes to Jackie and she says yes, she will be no longer be your fiance' Ray." she said. She wanted to be a lawyer when she grew up.

Ray was speechless. This little runt, Miki, had killed his joy. He sighed, "That's not fair!!!!!!!!!!"

Alex smiled back at Jackie, standing up to his full length. He listened to the story- because he had absolute no clue about that- and smirked at the end. "Life isn't fair, Ray." He said, the smirk never leaving his face.
Charlotte was able to push to the front, now beside Miki. "This is true," She said in a quiet, cracking voice. She'd read up on marriages and the law when she was 12.
